Hertford Castle Bowls Club News story

Important dates for your diaries

05 Sep 2016

Dear members,

Here are some important dates for your diary, in order of date:

Tuesday 6th September 2017 - NEW ladies Friendly Fixture at Melbourn, Cambridgeshire. This is 3 Rinks of ladies in greys. We urgently need more names on this mid-week fixture or we will lose the fixture in the future. So far, we have 2 ladies willing to drive so one more driver would suffice. It is a straight drive up the A10 beyond Royston. I can supply comprehensive maps. Please add your name to the Nomination card as soon as possible or contact Audrey to let her know that you are available.

Saturday 17th September 2017 - HCBC Ladies v HCBC Mens bowls 'Friendly' match at Home, 2.30pm start. This used to be a regular fixture in the past and it would be interesting to see if we can revive it! I will be putting a Nomination Card up on the notice board. Please add your name if you are available. Tea and cakes will be provided but no meal afterwards.

Saturday/Sunday 24th/25th September 2017 - Final weekend. I have put a notice on the notice board regarding catering arrangements. If you wish to have a free cheese or ham ploughman's lunch, you will need to enter you requests on the small sheets on the notice board and place them in the envelope provided on the board.

Friday 25th November - Annual Club Dinner and Presentation Night 2017. There is a notice on the board giving you all the details and a menu choice will be on the board in the near future. Audrey will be organising this event.

Monday 6th March to Friday 10th March 2017 - Warners 5-day Bowls break at Lakeside, Hayling Island. A notice with all the details is on the notice board. Please add you name to the list is you wish to come. You don't have to come to bowl but to enjoy a short break. We need to know the numbers as soon as possible as Warners can only hold the rooms for so long. There are only 6 single rooms but in the past, with so many singles going, we have negotiated a deal  with Warners paying a slight increase and then shared the cost amongst us all. Viv Arber will be taking over from me as Group Organiser, with my help.

I have added attachment where relevant.

Hope to see you at the Spoon Drive tomorrow morning, please bring a small raffle prize.

Regards,

Wendy
