Hertford Castle
Bowls Club is a mixed club and enjoys a full summer season of friendly and competitive matches as well as roll-ups and club competitions. We are
affiliated to County and District Bowls Associations and enter teams into
various leagues.
During the winter months we play a few friendly indoor away matches, and our
social committee organises quiz nights and fun evenings for members and friends
here at Wallfields.
The club is conveniently situated close to the centre of Hertford but
offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of town. It is a friendly
club and both experienced and new bowlers are welcome to join us.
The bowling green is located in front of the
East Hertfordshire Council Offices off Pegs Lane roundabout (near the Police Station and Richard Hale School) and is indicated by the red marker on the map below.
Come and visit Wallfields and look out for the Hertford Castle players with
the red and white shirts and navy trousers. Newcomers to the game can come and try
bowling on our Open Days in May with guidance from our experienced players and
club coach.
